Esclatec is a referral Special Employment Centre for the inclusion in the labour market of seriously disabled people. The range of products and fields covered and the centre’s workers make of Esclatec a singular centre.
Esclatec has its own Department of Research, Development and Innovation which designs and manufactures products with in-house technology and patents in the fields of industry, logistics, energy and assistive technology for disabled people.
In order to promote inclusion in the labour market of handicapped people, the Law 13/1982 for the social integration of handicapped people establishes the obligation of hiring a minimum quota of 2% of handicapped people in companies with more than 50 workers.
Since the unemployment rate amongst disabled people is still very high, the Council of Ministers passed a Royal Decree to establish alternative measures to hire disabled people. Basically, this Royal Decree presents two different options:
